Global warming is one of the most serious issues that the world is facing today. What are the causes of global warming and what measures can governments and individuals take to tackle the issue?

In the modern world, human beings are facing a vast array of issues, one of which is global warming. There are several causes of global warming, but most of them are results of human actions. Despite this, I believe several steps can be taken by both citizens and the authorities to deal with this global phenomenon.
To start, I believe that global warming is caused by several factors. Firstly, people are cutting down forests to get more land for residential areas or factories. For example, in Vietnam, deforestation is a major issue which is causing the air quality to deteriorate because there are not enough trees to absorb carbon dioxide. Secondly, emissions from factories are also rising due to increased production from the higher demand of goods. Finally, more and more citizens are opting for private vehicles because they are becoming more affordable and convenient, which increases the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Nevertheless, several methods could be used by both the government and their citizens to cope with this situation. For one, governments around the world can impose more taxes on private transportation to encourage public transportation usage. For instance, an automobile in Singapore can be ten times more than its original price tag due to higher taxes, so most Singaporeans commute by buses or trams, which greatly reduces emissions. Furthermore, air purifiers should be constructed in industrial parks to process the emissions which come from these places. In addition, governments worldwide should have stricter laws to deal with illegal logging.
All in all, global warming is a detrimental issue that affects the lives of many, but many methods could be used by the government and individuals to effectively deal with it.
