The provided illustration details the trapping of heat energy from the Sun by greenhouse gases. Overall, while this is a complex process, it can be seen that there are three main aspects contributing to the rise of greenhouse gases on Earth. 

With regard to the rise of greenhouse gases, namely carbon dioxide, there are three causes. For one, these gases are released by means of transportation, specifically from operating cars and trucks. Another concerning source would be that of manufacturing, or from factories. What should be highlighted is that the aforementioned sources of pollutant are a result of fossil fuel consumption. Finally, deforestation limits the capacity of carbon dioxide absorption, worsening the situation. 

In terms of heat energy from the Sun, it should be highlighted that it is not always trapped when entering the atmosphere, as heat radiates into space or is reflected by the atmosphere. However, with the presence of greenhouse gases, part of this energy is trapped, thus raising the temperature of the planet.
