[Process] Sugar Cane Production

The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane.

The provided illustration outlines how sugar is produced from sugar cane. Overall, it is a 7-step process, beginning with the cultivation of sugar cane and ending with the drying and cooling of the sugar.

In the first stage, sugar canes are grown on plantations for 12 to 18 months before they are ready for harvest. Once mature, the sugar canes can be harvested in two ways, either manually by farmers or mechanically using tractors with specialized equipment. After harvesting, the canes are put through a crusher to extract sugar cane juice.

In the fourth stage, the extracted juice is purified using limestone before being heated in a contraption known as an evaporator, where it is concentrated into syrup. The resulting syrup is then transferred to a centrifuge, where sugar crystals can be separated from the mixture. In the final step, the separated sugar is dried and cooled before they can be put to use.
