[Process] Sample: Pineapple Production
The picture shows the process of growing and making products from pineapples.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features.
The given illustration depicts the stages of pineapple cultivation along with the types of products made using this fruit. Overall, it may take up to 12 months to fully grow a pineapple and three main products can be made depending on its size.
To commence, pineapples are plotted in a way where the crowns are roughly 26 cm apart from one another under a relatively sunny weather between 23C to 30C. After the first 7 months, they increase in size and are sprayed with ethaline for further growth until the optimal height of 30cm with a weight of 2kg, which typically occurs within 5 months.
Before further processing can occur, the harvested pineapples are partly submerged and washed with water. Following this, they can be classified into 3 main sizes, small, medium and large. The small and medium-sized ones first have their crowns and then their outer skin removed. The former is then placed into an extractor to make juice, while the latter is cored and sliced for canning. In contrast, the largest pineapples are only coated with a layer of wax before being sent off as is for consumption.
